Assignment 2: Left-side Right-side mombo jumbo...

1. Who represents the extremes of both parties? Left side is represented by bloggers; right side is represented by FOX News.

2. What is the left wing really interested in? The war in Iraq and showing up the right side.

3. The extremes of both parties are upset about same thing. What is it? The Health care Reform

4.Why are liberals upset with the current Senate version of the bill? Because the insurers and drug companies are still getting richer.

5.Why are conservatives upset with the current Senate version of the bill? Because of annual income redistribution of $200 billion going to help the working poor pay for insurance.

6.The extreme ends of both parties get the most media coverage. Why do you think that is? That is because they are whole-hearted about whatever situation they are standing for and usually practice unconventional ways of getting thee point across like protesting.

7. Are the wings the base of the major parties? If not who is? The moderates are the base of both parties, but the extremist get more media coverage.

Assignment #1

1. Why does Klein imply that Obama and Afghanistan do not mix? Obama and his political party are suppose to be against the war and he promised to send the troops out.
2. What is the problem with a surge AND a withdrawal date? The withdrawal date is not logical and probably not true because more troops are being sent over and the that would be less than a year to work, plus other terrorist will only be wanting since the date has been made public.
3. What is the problem with Hamid Karzai? Karazi hasn't done what is needed to get Americans out of Afghanistan, and keep the security in Afghanistan.
4. How is Obama different than his predecessors?He was more educated and assertive trying to give people the feel of he knew exactly what he was doing.
5. Why are the president's ratings lower? Because Americans feel he has cheated them and are unhappy.
6. What effect do YOU think this will have on President Obama? I feel Americans will soon turn on him. This is deja vu all over again; Bush did the same thing right after 9-11. Americans stood behind him until the ground his lies stood on began to crumble. Obama's withdrawal date will move from June 2011 to December 2012 and on and on and he will leave a mess behind for the next President to clean up.
